Right water temperature
Whether you are washing woolen clothes or socks, always use the right temperature of water. Cold or lukewarm water can be used to wash woolen socks. Hot water can break the wool fibers and their shape can also be spoiled.

Right detergent
One of the reasons for clothes getting damaged is not using the detergent suitable for the clothes. Socks are light and woolen. To wash socks, use a detergent that is suitable for its fabric. Harsh detergents can spoil the fabric or wool of socks. Therefore, use mild detergent powder or liquid.

Do not rub too much
Socks are quite stretchy. While washing them, do not rub them too much but wash them with light hands. Rubbing can damage the wool fibers and make them less elastic.

Washing and drying

Do not machine wash woolen socks as they can cause lint. If you are washing socks in a washing machine, use a gentle cycle. Do not dry woolen socks in the sun. This can ruin their color.
