Dehydration and hair fall may not seem related at first glance, but they are completely interconnected. According to Dr. Dehydration is a condition in which excessive water is removed from your body, it can affect your body in different ways, one of which is hair loss.
According to experts, when there is water in your body, moisture remains in the hair and moisture is very important for hair growth. This is the most important element for hair growth. If you do not drink enough water, your hair can become lifeless, dry and break easily. Dehydration has a direct effect on the scalp. When there is a lack of water in the body, the scalp can become dry, flaky and itchy. This can promote problems like dandruff, which can contribute to hair loss if left untreated. In severe cases, excessive dryness and irritation of the scalp can even damage the hair follicles. Due to drying of hair pores, hair starts breaking and falling rapidly and the ability to generate new hair may also be lost.
Dehydration can increase the body's stress levels. Chronic dehydration can increase levels of stress hormones like cortisol, which is linked to hair loss. Increased stress can disrupt the natural hair growth cycle.
