Yesterday Halwa ceremony was performed in the Finance Ministry and after that these officers were locked in a room for 4 days because these officers are busy day and night preparing the budget. The budget for the year 2023 will be presented on February 1.

Few days are left for the country's budget to come. Before that today i.e. on January 26, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman (FM Nirmala Sitharaman) has given the final shape to the budget documents by distributing Halwa (Halwa Ceremony Budget 2023). Traditionally, this ceremony is held before the finalization of the budget document. Halwa Ceremony has been celebrated once again before preparing the budget after 2 years. During this, many Union Ministers including the Finance Minister were present. Everyone proceeded with the work by tasting the taste of the halwa.

This ritual is performed before the budget

The ritual of the Halwa Ceremony is performed every year. But in the year 2022, this ritual was not performed due to Kovid. Last year, due to the Corona epidemic, the Halwa Ceremony, which was performed before the printing of the budget, was not done. In the information given by the ministry, it was told that instead of halwa, sweets were given to the core staff due to going through a 'lock-in' at their workplaces.

Why is it necessary to make sweet?

It is necessary to organize Halwa Ceremony before the budget. After the Halwa Ceremony, tomorrow i.e. from 26 January to 1 February, all the officers related to the budget will remain in the Ministry of Finance. During this, the officials of the Ministry of Finance will stay away from the family for about a week. Let us tell you that this time the budget session will start from January 31 till April 6.

Where does this ceremony take place?

Let us tell you that the Finance Minister stirs the halwa in the pan and after that, it is served to the officials and flagged off. The ceremony takes place in the basement of the Finance Ministry's North Block, where there is a special printing press.

President Draupadi Murmu will address

On the first day of the budget session, President Draupadi Murmu will address the joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. There will be 27 sittings during the entire budget session. The first phase of the session will be from 31 January to 14 February. After about a month's holidays, the second phase of the budget session will start on March 12 and will continue till April 6.
