NPS Withdrawal: Under the National Pension System, if PAN and Aadhaar are not linked and KYC documents are not updated, then your account may be closed under certain conditions.

The Pension Fund Regulatory Development Authority has said that if a PAN card and an Aadhaar card are not linked before March 31, then you will not be able to withdraw money and unless you complete it under KYC rules, withdrawal cannot be done.

March 31, 2023, is the last date to link a PAN card with Aadhaar. In such a situation, you can still link by visiting the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department or the website of NSDL.

According to the circular dated July 1, 2022, if the PAN card is linked now, a fine of Rs 1,000 will have to be paid. On the other hand, if the link is not done, then your PAN card will be useless

If you are not able to pay the penalty amount for linking your PAN card, then you can complete it by visiting the new portal of the Income Tax Department or the NSDL website.

To link Aadhaar with an NPS account, first go to https://cra-nsdl.com/CRA/ this link and log in. Then update the Aadhaar number in the sub-menu and click on update details next.

Now add the Aadhaar number and generate OTP. After entering OTP, your Aadhaar will be linked with PRAN. The information in Aadhaar and PRAN should be the same.
