iPhone Users at Risk: A new cyber threat has recently raised concerns for iPhone and iPad users around the world. A dangerous hacking tool called Dark Sword has leaked onto the internet, putting millions, if not billions, of devices at risk.

iPhone: What is Dark Sword and why is it so dangerous?

According to reports, the tool has been uploaded to the online platform GitHub , making it available for download to anyone. The biggest concern is that the tool could easily target devices running older iOS versions, especially those that haven't yet updated to iOS 26. Cybersecurity experts say the tool is extremely easy to use and doesn't require any specialized technical knowledge.

You can get hacked even without being an expert!

According to security experts, Dark Sword is based on simple HTML and JavaScript files. This means anyone can use it without much effort. A demo even showed that an iPad mini running older iOS devices could be easily hacked with this tool. Once the device is infected, hackers can access personal information such as your contacts, messages, call history, and Wi-Fi passwords.

Apple warns

Apple has alerted users to this threat and advised them to update their software as soon as possible. The company says that keeping devices up-to-date is the most important security measure.

Apple also released an emergency security update on March 11th specifically for devices that can't update to the newest iOS version. Additionally, features like Lockdown Mode can help protect against such attacks.

How many devices are at risk?

According to Apple, it has more than 2.5 billion active devices worldwide. Approximately 25% of these devices are still running older iOS versions. This means that millions of devices could be vulnerable to this new threat.

How to avoid this cyber attack?

If you use an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings immediately to check for the latest update and install it. Users who are already updated are less vulnerable, but those using older versions could be at serious risk.
