Will gas cylinder prices rise?
Domestic gas cylinder prices remain unchanged at present, but fluctuations in international crude oil prices and the West Asia crisis have prompted state-owned oil marketing companies like IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL to review LPG prices on the first of every month. If international crude oil and gas prices continue to rise or supplies are disrupted, pressure on oil companies will increase, potentially affecting domestic cylinder prices in the coming months, such as June 2026.

Why is LPG used for cooking?
The primary reason for its widespread use is that it can be easily liquefied under low pressure. This allows large quantities of the gas to be stored in compact steel cylinders. Burning doesn't produce soot, making it easier to clean utensils, and storing it doesn't require a particularly sturdy container.
