World Malaria Day 2023: Every year in India, as soon as the heat increases, the terror of mosquitoes starts. These mosquitoes cause many diseases, including dengue, zika virus, chikungunya as well as malaria. Every year on 25th April, Malaria Day is celebrated all over the world, so that people can be made aware of this deadly disease.
What is malaria disease?
Malaria is a disease caused by a type of parasite Plasmodium. It is spread by the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito. Malaria is transmitted when an infected female Anopheles mosquito bites a person. Malaria can also prove to be fatal if there is no carelessness or proper treatment.
How does malaria happen?
A parasite called Plasmodium reaches your blood by the bite of an Anopheles mosquito and starts destroying the red blood cells of the body. This mosquito is mostly found in moist and watery places. That's why it is said to keep the house clean and not allow water to accumulate around the house to prevent mosquitoes.
How can malaria be avoided?
1. Prevention is better than cure. To prevent mosquitoes from entering the house, iron nets should be installed on the doors and windows.
2. Always keep cleanliness around the house and do not allow water to stagnate. Mosquitoes lay eggs in water, so do not allow water to stagnate in the cooler tank, nearby pits, or any such place.
3. To avoid mosquito bites, try to wear full pants and full-sleeve clothes so that the body is completely covered.
4. You can beat malaria by keeping yourself well-hydrated in the monsoon or summer. To keep the body warm during these days, apart from drinking enough water throughout the day, you can also drink coconut water, juice, etc.
5. Mosquitoes always hide near the doors and windows, curtains, and in the corners of the house. Do put mosquito spray in these places.
6. Do not go to such a place where there is garbage or dirt. Mosquitoes get a chance to flourish in such places. Also, do not go to parks, etc. in the evening and stay at home.
