India has always been a land of heroes, there are many kings and queens whose stories of courage and valor are still remembered. Today we are telling about five such notable Hindu queens, whose power and determination had created fear in the hearts of the Mughals and the British. Let's know about these brave queens:

Rani Durgavati
Rani Durgavati was the queen of Gondwana. After the death of her husband, she took over the kingdom and guided her son. She fought many battles, out of which her last battle was against Khwaja Abdul Majid Asaf Khan, the commander of the Mughal emperor Akbar. Even after being seriously injured during the war, Rani Durgavati continued to fight. In the end, instead of surrendering, she sacrificed her life by stabbing herself with a dagger.

Princess Ratnavati
Princess Ratnavati was the daughter of Maharawal Ratan Singh of Jaisalmer. During the siege of Jaisalmer Fort by Alauddin Khilji's army, Ratnavati was entrusted with the defence of the fort. Undaunted by the danger, she led her army with courage and successfully captured Khilji's commander Malik Kafur along with his 100 soldiers.

Rani Lakshmi Bai
After the death of her husband Maharaja Gangadhar Rao, Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi adopted Damodar as her son. However, the British refused to accept him as the rightful heir and attempted to subjugate Jhansi. Rani Lakshmi Bai led her army bravely in battle, eventually dying a martyr fighting against the British in her last conflict.

Rani Chennamma
Before the time of Rani Lakshmi Bai, Rani Chennamma of Kittur, Karnataka fiercely opposed British rule. After the death of her husband and son, she took over the throne, and the British attempted to usurp power from her. Rani Chennamma fought bravely against the British forces, though she was eventually captured.
