The Telecom Act 2023 has come into effect partially from June 26. Under this, keeping more than 9 SIMs can attract a fine of Rs 2 lakh and three years of imprisonment. In Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, this limit is 6. If you use more than 9 SIM cards on the same Aadhaar card, then you can get into trouble.
If you do not follow this rule and take more than 9 SIMs on the same Aadhaar or misuse the SIM, then for breaking the rule for the first time, a fine of Rs 50 thousand will have to be paid and for breaking it repeatedly, a fine of Rs 2 lakh will be imposed. There will be no jail for keeping more than 9 SIMs, but if your SIM is used for wrong work, then you can get into trouble.
