For this, boys and girls fast for the sake of Lord Shiva. However, it is mandatory to keep many things in mind while worshiping Lord Shiva. If you don't do it, you don't get the fruit. Offering many things to Lord Shiva is prohibited in Sanatan Shastras. Therefore, do not offer these things on Shivling even by mistake. Let's know-
- In time, Mahadev, the god of gods, killed Jalandhar. At that time Jalandhar's wife Vrinda had become a Tulsi plant. For this, it is forbidden to offer Tulsi Dal to Lord Shiva. For this don't offer Tulsi Dal on Shivling.
Kaner and lotus flowers should not be offered to Mahadev, the God of Gods. Also, red-colored flowers should not be offered to Lord Shiva. For this, don't offer red colored flowers even by mistake to Lord Shiva.
- It is prohibited to offer Kumkum and Roli to Shivji in Sanatan Shastras. For this, while worshiping, do not offer Kumkum and Roli on Shivling even by mistake. If you offer Kumkum to Shivji, then the result of worship is not achieved.
Turmeric is considered auspicious in Sanatan Shastra. Turmeric is used in every auspicious work. However, turmeric should not be offered to Lord Shiva. If you want to get the blessings of Lord Shiva, then do not use these things in worship.
