Special importance of worship has been given in Sanatan Dharma. In which there is a provision to worship all the Gods and Goddesses regularly. Many types of offerings like 56 bhog and sugar candy are offered to the Lord.

It is believed that God can get angry due to mistakes made during the puja and due to this, the puja is not considered complete. There are rules for offering different types of offerings in many types of worship methods which is very important to follow.

Only then one get auspicious results of worship. Many times devotees do this while offering Prasad to God during puja, they leave the food there with God which should not be done even by mistake.

Do not leave prasad with God after puja

After offering Prasad to God in puja, do not leave it even by mistake. It is said to have negative effects. After leaving Prasad to God, a person starts experiencing inauspicious effects.

It is said in the scriptures that after the puja is completed, the prasad should be taken from the Lord and consumed with the family.

By this all the Gods and Goddesses are pleased and one can get relief from all the sorrows.

Know the rules of offering food in puja (Puja BhogNiyam)

  • The offering should not be kept directly before God.
  • Prasad should never be offered on the ground. It is considered inauspicious.
  • Always offer only virtuous things to God.
  • Offer the Prasad in vessels made of metal like brass or silver etc.
  • After offering Prasad, offer water to God.
  • This mantra must be chanted while offering food to God.
  • त्वदीयंवस्तुगोविन्दतुभ्यमेवसमर्पये।
  • गृहाणसम्मुखोभूत्वाप्रसीदपरमेश्वर।।
  • The famous God is present in front of the household.'
  • There should not be salt and chilli in God's Prasad.
  • Fruits and sweets are considered the best to offer to God.
