Jitiya fast worship method
Worship has more importance in every fast. It is not appropriate to start any fast without worship. Even during Jitiya Vrat, special attention is paid to both the worship and its method. On the day of fasting, after bathing, women worship in front of the idol of Lord Jimutavahana made of Kusha as per the rituals by offering incense, lamps, rice and flowers.

Along with this, idols of eagles and lion are made from cow dung and clay. While performing the puja, they apply vermilion on their forehead and listen to the story of Jivitputrika Vrat during the puja.
