This information has been revealed in a study. It has been published in 'The Archives of Disease in Childhood'. For the study, researchers from the University of Oxford analyzed data from 18,818 children living in the UK born in 2000-2002. The results of their secondary education standardized tests were looked at and the total scores and grades of the children were analyzed

About a third (32.8%) of the participants were never breastfed and the rest were breastfed for varying periods of time. Children who were breastfed for at least 12 months scored better in difficult subjects like English, maths, and science than those who were never breastfed. These children turned out to be more promising in the annual results also.
