One should always remember and chant the name of Dashavatar of Shri Hari. Those ten names are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha and Kalki. By chanting these names, all sins and sufferings end.

It is told in Garuda Purana that if a person near death utters the name 'Narayan' at the last moment, then all his sins are destroyed. Along with this, it has also been told that those who do not remember the name of God even once, are made to stand in front of Yamraj in Yamlok. Also, they are made to atone for their sins.
