Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Every year on the Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month, Ganesh Utsav is celebrated across the country. This year, the 10-day-long Ganeshotsav is starting on Tuesday, 19th September. This ten-day-long Ganesh Utsav will continue till 28th September. This year, due to a difference in the calendar, Chaturthi Tithi of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha will remain for 2 days. Chaturthi Tithi will start on 18th September and will continue till 10.28 am on 19th September. According to religious beliefs, Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. On Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganapati is present in every house, and worship is done. 1-According to the Hindu calendar, Chaturthi Tithi falls every month in Shukla and Krishna Paksha. Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month, hence this Chaturthi is special among all the Chaturthi. On this date, Lord Ganapati is placed in every house and worshiped.

2- Lord Ganesha has different forms in which in each form are hidden important tips for a successful, happy, and peaceful life. Siddhi Vinayak form of Lord Ganesha is worshiped on Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi. According to the scriptures, Lord Ganesha had incarnated on this day in the afternoon, hence this Ganesh Chaturthi is said to be especially fruitful.

3- There are many names of Ganesha but these 12 names are important - Samukh, Ekdant, Kapil, Gajkarnak, Lambodar, Vikat, Vighna-Nashak, Vinayak, Dhumketu, Ganadhyaksha, Bhalchandra, Gajanan. Reciting 12 names of Ganesha while doing any auspicious work like the study of knowledge, marriage, travel, starting of employment or any other auspicious work removes the obstacles in work and achieves good success in life.

4- Ganesh's vehicle is a rat. He has two wives, Ridvi and Sidvi. Labh and Kshema are the two sons of Lord Ganesha. Auspiciousness was born from Riddhi while profit was born from Siddhi. Santoshi Mata is the mental daughter of Lord Ganesha. Parents are Lord Shankar and Parvati, brother Shri Kartikeya and sister Ashok Sundari.

5- According to the scriptures, Lord Ganesha took 64 incarnations, out of which 12 incarnations are considered very special. Special worship is done to the 12 incarnations of Lord Ganesha. The first name of Lord Ganesha is Vinayak. Which is considered to be the real name.

6- According to religious beliefs, Lord Ganesha has taken different incarnations in every era. It is believed that he took the incarnation of a lion in Satyayuga, a peacock in Tretayuga, and a mouse in Dwapar Yuga.

7- According to the scriptures, Tulsi, broken rice, Ketaki flower, white sacred thread, and white sandalwood are never offered in the worship of Lord Ganesha.

8- Chaturthi Tithi is specially dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Apart from this, special worship of Lord Ganesha is done on Wednesday, Anant Chaturdashi, Dhanteras and Diwali.

9- Lord Ganesha is the first worshiped deity and he is very fond of Durva grass, red flowers, gram flour laddus, modak and banana.

10-During the worship of Lord Ganesha, one must chant his 4 powerful mantras.
