First of all, make Lord Ganesha sit on the stool and make Navagraha, Shodash Matrika, etc.

Place the urn in the eastern part of the post and light a lamp in the southeast.

While sprinkling water on yourself, salute Lord Ganesha by saying Om Pundarikakshay Namah do Achaman three times, and apply Tilak on the forehead.
