In the inaugural session of the Indian Clean Air Summit 2024 organized by the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) in Bengaluru, Lok Sabha member Gaurav Gogoi made many important points about controlling pollution from the industry. During this, he said that we should not see industries as villains in the context of spreading pollution.

Emphasizing this, he said, "How can carbon emissions from industries be reduced? The industry also needs to be included in the discussions being held regarding this." In the program, Gaurav Gogoi also said that there is a need to review the National Clean Air Program again. For your information, let us tell you that the National Clean Air Program was started in the year 2019. According to Gaurav Gogoi, the success of this program has been limited and it needs to be redesigned or improved or National Clean Air Program 2.0 can be started.

Gaurav Gogoi also said during this time that the National Clean Air Program should not be limited to cities only to control pollution, but attention needs to be paid to all the places where pollution is happening across the country.

Attention should be paid to the transport and construction sector because a lot of pollution comes from here. We need to learn from those countries which are doing a very good job on pollution control in their country. Apart from this, he also said many important things on what role the media can play in preventing air pollution.

At the beginning of the Indian Clean Air Summit 2024 program organized by CSTEP, Dr. Jai Asundi said that everyone will have to work together to control air pollution.

This problem cannot be solved alone. Only with collective participation will it help in controlling air pollution. During this, he also said that the help of science and technology helps the government in making a better policy. This helps in sustainable development. Gaurav Gagoi was invited as the chief guest in this function.
