Aloo Tikki is very popular as an Indian street food. People like its taste very much. It is also prepared and eaten at home. It can be made as a snack. It means that this salty dish is a good option in case of light hunger. Anyway, potatoes are used in many vegetables at home. In such a situation, it is available most of the time. Now whenever you feel like eating and serving potato tikkis, then definitely try this. Then let's prepare delicious potato tikkis.
Ingredients
Boiled potatoes – 4
Corn flour – 2 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
Green chilli – 1-2
Green Coriander – 2-3 tbsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Kashmiri red chili – 1/2 tsp
Mint – 2 tbsp
Mango powder – 1/2 tsp
Oil – for frying
Salt – as per taste
Recipe
- First, boil the potatoes and then peel them and grate them.
Now chop green chilies and green coriander finely. After this, take a big mixing bowl and put grated potatoes in it.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, and finely chopped green chilies to the potatoes and mix well.
Now add cumin powder, dry mango powder, chaat masala, and salt to the mixture and mix well.
- Add chopped coriander and mint and mix. Then add 2 tablespoons corn flour to the mixture and mix it well with potatoes.
- If corn flour is not available, rice flour or poha powder can also be used.
Now make this mixture soft by mashing it well with the help of your hands.
-Then apply some oil on your hands and take small amounts of the mixture, make balls of it, and press it with both palms to give it the shape of a tikki.
-Similarly, make tikkis from the entire mixture and keep them on a plate.
- Now put oil in a pan and heat it.
- After the oil is hot, add the potato tikkis and deep fry them. If you want, you can also shallow fry it by putting it in the pan.
-Fry the tikkis until golden and crisp. After that take it out on a plate.
-Similarly, fry all the potato tikkis. Serve it with green chutney and tamarind chutney.
