Aja Ekadashi 2023: Ekadashi fast has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. According to religious beliefs, by observing the Ekadashi fast, a person gets physical, mental, and financial benefits. According to the Panchang, the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start at 07.17 pm on September 09 and end at 09.28 pm on 10 September. In such a situation, the Aja Ekadashi fast will be observed on 10 September 2023, a Sunday. Punarvasu and Pushya Nakshatra are being formed on this special day. Along with this, Variayan Yoga, Ravi Pushya Yoga, and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will also be formed on this day, which are considered best for all auspicious works.
Importance of Aja Ekadashi
According to Padampuraan, Aja Ekadashi is the destroyer of all sins. One who worships Lord Rishikesh and observes this fast, after enjoying happiness in this world, finally goes to Vishnuloka. The results of this fast are more than the results obtained from Ashwamedha Yagya, donations in pilgrimages, thousands of years of penance, Kanyadaan, etc.
Liturgy
In the morning, wake up before sunrise and after taking a bath, worship Lord Vishnu along with Mother Lakshmi along with Gopi sandalwood, rice, yellow flowers, seasonal fruits, sesame, and manjari along with Tulsi Dal. You can eat fruits in the evening while remaining fasting throughout the day. Reciting Vishnu Sahastranam on Ekadashi gives special blessings to Lord Vishnu. If you cannot fast for some reason, then on this day, remain virtuous by meditating on Lord Vishnu, do not lie, do not hurt anyone, and avoid criticism. Rice should not be eaten on the day of Ekadashi.
