Malmas, also known as Purushottam month, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Worship of Tulsi and Shaligram in this month has been said to be many times fruitful. Importance of Tulsi worship
According to Hindu texts and beliefs, Tulsi worships in Adhikamah brings many positive changes. New energy is communicated in life. It is said that where there is a Tulsi plant and it is worshipped, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi always remain in that house. If Tulsi is worshiped in this month, then Sri Hari becomes pleased with it. On the other hand, if Tulsi is consumed during this time, then the person gets the same results as many Chandrayaan fasts. According to Padma Purana, worshiping, chanting, meditating, planting, and wearing Tulsi in Purushottam month, burns all the sins and provides heaven and salvation. If Lord Shri Vishnu is worshiped with Tulsi leaves containing Manjari, then infinite rewards are attained. Where Tulsi is planted, there is the proximity of Lord Shri Krishna and there Brahma and Lakshmiji also sit with all the deities. The source mantra etc. that is chanted near Tulsiji, all that is going to give infinite times. In this month, by lighting a ghee lamp under Tulsi in the evening, all diseases and sorrows end.
Importance of worshiping Shaligram
According to Padampuraan, the creature who visits Shaligram in Adhikamas. He bows his head, bathes him and worships him by dedicating Tulsi Dal. He gets merit equal to crores of sacrifices and the fruit of crores of cows. Many sins are removed by remembering, chanting, meditating, worshiping and saluting them. The place where there are Shaligram and Tulsi, Lord Shri Hari resides there and Bhagwati Lakshmi also resides there along with all the pilgrimages. It is a religious belief that Lord Keshav resides in Shaligram, where all the deities, Asuras, Yakshas and fourteen Bhuvans are present. The one who anoints himself with the water of the Shaligram rock gets the same results as bathing in all the pilgrimages and the same as performing all the yagyas.
Worshiping such Shaligram is beneficial
By worshiping an umbrella-shaped Shalagram, you get state happiness etc. and by worshiping a circular-shaped one, you get wealth and prosperity. Distorted, torn, prong-shaped, shake-shaped, yellowish, shaligrams with broken chakras become the cause of sorrow, poverty, disease, loss, so they should not be kept in the house, temple.
