Indian Premier League 2023: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is once again being played in its old format after a long time, in which a team will get a chance to play 7 matches at its home ground as well. Meanwhile, in the matches played in Delhi, Mohali, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, a special kind of warning has also been issued for the spectators who go to the stadium and enjoy the match.
During matches in these 4 cities, spectators will not be allowed to carry posters opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) inside the stadium. Paytm Insider has got the right to sell tickets for home matches of Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings team.
A list of banned items has been issued by Paytm Insider regarding ticket sales of matches, which will not be allowed to be taken inside the stadium during the match, and one of these is posters related to CAA and NRC protests.
BCCI official reminded of FIFA World Cup guidelines
According to PTI regarding this order, this would have been taken after consulting the ticketing partner from the franchise regarding their home matches. However, this is done only after consulting the BCCI, in which posters of political or other issues are not allowed to be waved on the ground during any sporting event.
On this, a BCCI official reminded the guidelines of the FIFA World Cup played earlier this year, in which according to the rules, there was a complete ban on anyone carrying any political, religious or any other kind of slogan.
