Virat Kohli Last year, around this time, he won the T20 World Cup, a few months ago the Champions Trophy and finally tonight, the IPL title. For a person who has been with RCB for almost two decades and has seen everything - excitement and heartbreak - it was natural for Kohli to cry. But the words that came out of his mouth after that highlighted the true significance of the victory. Kohli started with this team when this team was formed. Kohli was not even 18 years old in 2008. From starting as a teenager to captaining the team and now becoming a legend of world cricket, Kohli has finally known what it is like to win the IPL. Even though he handled himself with those tears of joy. Even though he celebrated the biggest victory of his career with his wife Anushka Sharma.

I have given youth and experience to the team
Kohli said after the victory that this victory is as much for the fans as it is for the team. It has been 18 years. I have given my youth, my best and my experience to this team. I have tried to win it every season, given my all. Finally winning is an incredible feeling. Never thought this day would come, I got emotional after the last ball was bowled. If I am honest, this is the top. As I said, I have given my all in the last 18 years. I have been loyal to this team, no matter what. I have had moments when I thought otherwise, but I stayed with this team. I stood behind them, they stood behind me. And I always dreamed of winning with them. And this is more special than winning with anyone else because my heart is with Bangalore, my soul is with Bangalore.
Virat Kohli knows where his loyalties lie
A few years ago, Kohli was asked if he would ever play for a team in the IPL that is not RCB. After all, even the greatest players have changed franchises. Rohit Sharma, the only player to win six IPL trophies, started out with the Deccan Chargers before becoming a legend with the Mumbai Indians. MS Dhoni too had to join Rising Pune Supergiant when Chennai Super Kings were banned for two years. Even de Villiers was with the Delhi Capitals when they were the Daredevils. But one man who has stayed with RCB, one franchise, forever, through good and bad times, without ever giving it a second thought is Kohli.
