Tax Report: Everyone knows that a state's expenditure on roads, hospitals, schools, and other government facilities depends on the amount of tax collected. Recently, a report on the financial situation of the country's states was released, revealing significant differences. The report found that while some states are generating significant tax revenue, others are still dependent on tax shares and financial assistance from the central government.

Haryana is at the forefront.

According to data from the financial year 2024-24, Haryana has been at the forefront of tax collection. According to the report, 73.23 percent of Haryana's total income came from self-levied taxes. This clearly indicates that Haryana is generating a significant portion of its revenue on its own.

Bihar is the last

Bihar lags behind in tax collection. Only 24.50 percent of the state's total income comes from its own taxes, forcing Bihar to rely on financial assistance from the central government.

Earlier, this state was at the forefront.

From the financial year 2017 to 2020, Maharashtra was the leader in tax collection. However, after 2020-21, Haryana has overtaken Maharashtra. Significantly, Haryana has remained in the top spot ever since.

Apart from Haryana, these states also performed well.
