A bizarre incident unfolded in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, where a government department worker allegedly kept his lover locked inside his home while he was away at work — all while a divorce case with his first wife was still ongoing. The situation exploded when his wife got wind of the affair and reached his house, leading to police intervention and public chaos.

What Happened?

The man, employed as a helper in a government workshop, married his wife in 2007 in Varanasi, and the couple had two children. However, in 2022, their relationship soured, and they began living separately. A divorce case is currently pending in court.

While the wife remained in Varanasi with the children, her husband allegedly moved another woman into his Ghazipur home. According to reports, he would lock the woman inside the house whenever he went to work, and keep the doors locked from inside when he was home.

Wife’s Surprise Visit Turns Dramatic

The situation escalated when the first wife received information about the live-in relationship. She rushed to the Ghazipur residence, created a scene, and called the 112 Police Response Vehicle (PRV). Upon arrival, the police found the woman inside the locked house. When questioned, the woman claimed to be a maid.

The scene turned more chaotic when the husband tried to leave the area with the second woman on his motorcycle. Enraged, the wife caused a commotion in front of the police.

No Resolution at Police Station

Both parties were taken to the local police station, where officers tried to mediate. However, no formal complaint was filed by either side, and the issue remained unresolved. City Kotwal Deendayal Pandey confirmed that a similar case had been reported a day earlier, involving the same individuals.
