Ghaziabad Horror: Adoptive Mother Beats and Strangles Her Adopted Son to Death

A tragic incident unfolded in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City area, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman killed her adopted son after accusing him of stealing money from her shop. The boy’s body was discovered inside the house on the evening of May 14. It has come to light that the victim was not her biological child but the son of her younger sister, who had given the boy up for adoption years ago. The accused woman has been arrested.

The accused, identified as Rahmat Khatoon, resides in Daulat Nagar Colony under Tronica City police jurisdiction. Rahmat, a widow since 2021, ran a grocery shop at her home. Since she had no children of her own, her younger sister entrusted her four-year-old son Sahil for adoption eight years back. Sahil, 12 years old at the time of his death, was studying in second grade.

Neighbors alerted the police after finding Sahil’s lifeless body lying on a cot in Rahmat’s home. When police arrived, Rahmat was missing. The body was sent for postmortem, which confirmed strangulation as the cause of death.

Further investigation revealed Sahil’s adoption status, and police tracked down his biological parents living in Begusarai, Bihar. Upon contacting them, his biological mother came to Ghaziabad. Based on her complaint, police registered a case against Rahmat Khatoon and took her into custody.
