The war between the US and Iran has disrupted the movement of crude oil, leading to higher prices for petrol and diesel. Following this, India was considering becoming completely dependent on cheap Russian oil. However, now there are reports that oil shortages have begun in Russia as well. Russia's fuel shortages
have recently been acknowledged by Russian President Vladimir Putin , who stated that Ukraine's continued drone and missile attacks have led to fuel shortages. Speaking about this, Putin stated, "Russia's focus is now on enhancing its air defenses and ensuring fuel supplies, especially to Crimea."

Putin further said, "Over the past few weeks, Ukraine has attacked several Russian oil refineries and fuel storage facilities. This has led to a shortage of petrol and diesel in many areas of Russia, and long lines are forming at petrol pumps. Ukraine has proposed to halt long-range attacks, but Russia believes Ukraine wants this because Russia's retaliatory attacks are causing more damage to it."

Russia seeks to capture these regions.
Putin also stated that Russia's current goal is to fully capture the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Until this goal is achieved, Russia will not accept any peace agreement that does not meet its conditions. He also stated that he hopes US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will resume negotiations soon. He also stated that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko could assist in peace talks.

During the conversation,
Putin also revealed that during his talks with US President Donald Trump in Alaska last year , some possible ways to end the Ukraine war were discussed, but no official agreement or document was signed.

How will petrol and diesel prices be reduced in India?
While a ceasefire has now been established between Iran and the UAE, this agreement is only for 60 days. Therefore, after 60 days, the situation could return to the same level, and India looked to Russia for support in such a situation. But now that Russia is also facing an oil shortage, there is uncertainty about how petrol and diesel prices will be reduced in India. If the situation does not improve, oil prices may even rise.
