Extra Oil in Vegetables: Sometimes a small mistake while cooking can change the taste of the entire dish. This often happens when too much oil is added to the vegetable. Floating oil not only looks unpleasant but also spoils the taste of the food and is also considered unhealthy. In such a situation, if there is too much oil in your vegetable, there is no need to throw it away. By adopting some simple home remedies, you can remove the excess oil and make the vegetable as tasty as before. So let us know what are the ways to fix it if there is too much oil in the vegetable.

If there is too much oil in the vegetable, what are the ways to fix it?

1. Remove oil with an ice cube - If oil is floating on the surface of a gravy, take a large ice cube and gently swirl it over the vegetable for a few seconds. When exposed to cold, the oil begins to solidify and stick to the ice. Be sure to remove the ice before it melts. Alternatively, you can place the ice in a large spoon and swirl the cold spoon over the oil.

2.  Bread Slices - If you see a lot of oil on the vegetable, take a slice of bread and place it on a lightly oiled surface. Bread absorbs excess oil quickly. Remember not to dip the bread into the vegetable; just remove it immediately after it absorbs the oil.

3.  You can remove the oil by keeping it in the refrigerator. If you have some time, let the vegetable cool down and then place it in the refrigerator for a while. As it cools, the oil or ghee solidifies and forms a layer on top. This solidified layer can then be easily removed with a spoon. Then, reheat the vegetable and serve.

4. Remove oil with tissue paper - If you've cooked dry vegetables, like okra or potatoes, drain them on a plate lined with tissue paper. If desired, you can also lightly press the tissue paper on top. This helps remove excess oil easily. This same method can be used for fried foods as well.

5. Add roasted gram flour - If the gravy dish contains too much oil and the gravy seems thin, dry roast some gram flour and add it to the dish. The roasted gram flour absorbs the excess oil and makes the gravy thicker and tastier.
