New Delhi: EPFO ​​has extended the deadline to activate UAN and link bank account with Aadhaar to avail the ELI scheme till March 15, 2025. This information has come to light from a circular issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment on February 21. The deadline has been extended several times before this as well. Earlier the deadline was February 15, 2025. UAN is a 12-digit number that EPFO ​​​​gives to every employed employee. This is a number through which you can track and access your PF balance from a single number.

To avail the benefit of ELI i.e. Employment-Linked Incentive Scheme, it is necessary to activate UAN and link bank account with Aadhaar. If you want to get the money of ELI scheme, then you have to activate your UAN and link Aadhaar with your bank account. This process is controlled by EPFO. Without this you cannot avail the benefits of the scheme. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the ELI scheme in the Union Budget of July 2024.

What is UAN?

It is a 12-digit number that EPFO ​​gives to every employed person. It helps in managing all your PF accounts. No matter how many companies you work for, your UAN will remain the same. This will help you track your PF balance easily. Employees can complete the UAN activation process using Aadhaar-based OTP. Employees can follow these simple steps to activate their UAN to avail the ELI scheme:

Step 1: Visit the EPFO ​​member portal.

Step 2: Click on the Activate UAN link under Important Links.

Step 3: Enter UAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar.

Step 4: Employees should ensure that their mobile number is linked with Aadhaar so that they can avail all the digital services of EPFO.

Step 5: Agree to Aadhaar OTP verification.

Step 6: Click on "Get Authorization PIN" to receive OTP on your Aadhaar linked mobile number.

Step 7: Enter the OTP to complete the activation.

On successful activation, a password will be sent to your registered mobile number. After UAN is activated, you can use many online services of EPFO. Such as managing PF account, viewing and downloading PF passbook, submitting online claim for advance, withdrawal or transfer, updating personal information and real-time claim monitoring. That is, now you can do all your PF work sitting at home.
