As the entire nation celebrates Holi with vibrant colors, sweet delicacies, and festive gatherings, Barsana, the land of Radha-Krishna’s divine love, has once again become the center of attention. For the past week, thousands of devotees and tourists have flocked to Barsana to witness and participate in the famous Lathmar Holi. However, amidst the joyful atmosphere, an incident has surfaced that has sparked widespread anger on social media.
Actor and blogger Tushar Shukla, who visited Barsana to experience the festival, shared a disturbing video that has exposed a dark side of Holi celebrations. His footage reveals how some men take advantage of the occasion to misbehave with women, turning the festival of love and unity into an uncomfortable experience for many.
"Do Only Girls Play Holi?"—Actor Calls Out Misconduct
In his video, Tushar Shukla openly criticized those who exploit the festival as an excuse for inappropriate behavior. Expressing his anger, he said:
"I went to Barsana to play Holi today. Everything was fine, but I have a question—do only girls come to play Holi in Barsana? Why do you directly target their private parts? Don’t you have mothers or sisters at home? Please do not defame such a sacred place with these acts."
Social Media Erupts in Fury
Tushar’s video has struck a chord with the public, with social media users lashing out at those responsible for such disgraceful acts. Many have condemned this behavior, emphasizing that Barsana’s Holi should remain a celebration of tradition and devotion, not a platform for harassment.
A user from Braj, expressing his disappointment, commented:
"Our Braj has become infamous because of such acts. Sisters, don’t come here—I live here and I have seen all this happen."
Another user wrote:
"These disgusting people tarnish the reputation of this holy place. Women should respond to such acts with their footwear!"
Preserving the Sanctity of Festivals
This incident has once again raised concerns about women’s safety during public festivals, with many demanding stricter action against such miscreants. While Holi is meant to spread joy and unity, it is crucial that celebrations remain respectful and safe for everyone.
With growing awareness and social media exposure, it is time to take a stand against harassment and ensure that festivals like Barsana Holi retain their cultural purity without fear or discomfort for women.
