Gopashtami is celebrated on the eighth day of the bright fortnight of Kartik month. This festival is associated with cow worship. On this day, the cow and its calf are sacrificed. It is believed that the cow's body is inhabited by gods and that worshipping it is tantamount to worshipping all the gods.

Akshaya Navami will be celebrated on October 31st. This festival is celebrated on the ninth day of the bright fortnight of the month of Kartik.
