From when to when is Chhath Puja

  • Bathing and Eating: October 25, 2025 (Saturday)
  • Kharna: October 26, 2025 (Sunday)
  • Evening Arghya: October 27, 2025 (Monday)
  • Morning Arghya and Parana: October 28, 2025 (Tuesday)

Chhath Puja 2025 Items List

  • New clothes for the fasting person: Saree or suit for women and dhoti-kurta or kurta-pyjama for men.
  • Bamboo or brass spoon: Soup has special significance for offering Prasad and Arghya in Chhath Puja.
  • Bamboo baskets: Two large baskets made of bamboo are required, in which the puja prasad and fruits are kept.
  • Puja utensils: Keep a lota, a glass, a plate, and a diya (lamp).
  • Plants and Fruits: Take 5 sugarcanes with leaves, green ginger plant, radish, turmeric, water coconut, banana, custard apple, pear, and Dabh lemon.
  • Worship materials: Rice, roli, kumkum, vermilion, incense, camphor, agarbatti, and sandalwood.
  • Other ingredients: Betel leaf, whole betel nut, honey, sweet potato, suthani, and sweets.
  • Ingredients for offering: Use wheat flour, jaggery, or sugar to make thekua and kasar. Laddus can also be made from rice flour.

Kharna offerings hold special significance: Kharna is celebrated on the second day of Chhath Puja. On this day, devotees observe a waterless fast throughout the day and, after the evening puja, partake of kheer, roti, and fruit. This marks the beginning of the main Chhath fast the next day.
