Danish Kaneria Targets Shahid Afridi Over Controversial Statements and Makes a Big Demand

Following the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 28 people, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi made a series of controversial statements, particularly targeting the Indian Army. Afridi's comments, which suggested that the Indian government orchestrated the attack and blamed Pakistan for it, sparked widespread outrage, especially in India.

In response to Afridi’s remarks, Danish Kaneria, another former Pakistani cricketer, has strongly criticized him. Kaneria accused Afridi of making baseless and inflammatory statements, calling for a ban on Afridi in India. He demanded that Afridi’s programs be banned from Indian television, alleging that the former Pakistani all-rounder is being paid by the Pakistani Army to incite people with his views. Kaneria further criticized Afridi for his repeated targeting of India and his role in spreading negativity.

Afridi had gone so far as to call the Indian Army "useless" and blamed them for the attack in Pahalgam, stating that despite having 8 lakh personnel in Kashmir, they failed to prevent the attack. He also alleged that whenever something goes wrong in India, the blame is automatically shifted to Pakistan.

Adding to the controversy, Kaneria accused Afridi of pressuring him to convert to Islam during their playing days. Kaneria, who is a Hindu, revealed that Afridi made several attempts to influence his religious beliefs and caused him significant discomfort. He further claimed that Afridi treated him disrespectfully, even refusing to share meals with him, an act which Kaneria found deeply insulting.
