Cheteshwar Pujara trolls Babar Azam: New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 60 runs in the first match of the Champions Trophy 2025 played at the National Stadium in Karachi on Wednesday (19 February). There is an uproar in Pakistan after the defeat in this match. Many former cricketers and fans are blaming Babar Azam's slow innings for the defeat.
Babar Azam scored 64 runs off 90 balls in this match and his innings put a lot of pressure on the other batsmen and eventually, despite Khushdil Shah's 69 runs off 49 balls, they remained far away from the target. Babar Azam is being criticized a lot for his low strike-rate in the first match of the Champions Trophy and legends like Wasim Akram and Cheteshwar Pujara also criticized it.
On the Pakistan show 'Dressing Room' where Indo-Pak stars analyse the game, Wasim Akram took a sarcastic dig at Babar Azam and said that Babar took the advice of slow batting very seriously. Cheteshwar Pujara then made a sharp comment in which he took a dig at Babar Azam and said that no one told him to face so many dot balls. A clip is going viral on social media in which Pujara is seen reprimanding Babar.
Also, many Indian fans are hurt by Pujara joining the Pakistan show. Many have speculated that he has gone to Pakistan, however, it has been confirmed that the studio of the show is in Dubai. The stage is now set for the high-octane contest between India and Pakistan and the Men in Green will hope that their biggest star Babar Azam performs well against India.
