According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) bank holiday calendar, bank branches will remain closed on July 16 and July 17, 2026, but only in certain states due to regional festivals and commemorative events.

Bank Holiday on July 16, 2026
On Thursday, July 16, bank branches will remain closed in the following states:
Uttarakhand
Banks across Uttarakhand will remain shut on account of Harela, a traditional festival celebrated across the state to mark the onset of the monsoon and agricultural season.
Odisha
Bank branches in Odisha will remain closed due to the Rath Yatra celebrations observed in several parts of the state.
Manipur
Banks in Manipur will also remain closed because of a local public holiday declared by the state government.
Other States
Except for the above-mentioned states, bank branches across the rest of India are expected to operate as usual.
Bank Holiday on July 17, 2026
On Friday, July 17, banks will remain closed only in:
Meghalaya
Bank branches in Meghalaya will observe a holiday on the occasion of U Tirot Sing Day, which commemorates the legacy of freedom fighter U Tirot Sing.
Other States
All other states and Union Territories are expected to continue normal banking operations on July 17.
Will Online Banking Be Available?
Yes. Although physical bank branches will remain closed in the affected states, customers can continue using digital banking services without interruption.

- Mobile banking apps
- NEFT, RTGS and IMPS transactions (subject to system timings where applicable)
- ATM cash withdrawals
