The flood of films on the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’ continues! After South superstar Junior NTR teamed up with SS Rajamouli to create a movie on Dadasaheb Phalke, Bollywood legend Aamir Khan and acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani have officially announced their own biopic on the iconic filmmaker.

What to Expect?
Though the film’s title is yet to be revealed, the project will explore the origins of Indian cinema against the backdrop of India’s freedom struggle. Rajkumar Hirani, known for blockbusters like 3 Idiots and PK, will helm the film, while Aamir Khan will play a lead role.

Family’s Approval
Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson, confirmed the film and expressed excitement. He shared that Rajkumar Hirani’s team had been in contact with him for years, with thorough research done before the green light was given.

When Will Filming Begin?
No rush yet—filming is expected to start around October 2025. Meanwhile, Aamir is focused on his upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par before diving into this much-anticipated project.
