Navigation apps like Google Maps and Apple Maps are available for Apple devices. It's worth noting that Apple Maps will now also feature advertisements. Furthermore, users cannot turn off the ads in the app.

According to the information, the placement of ads in Apple Maps is designed to make them easily visible among search results. When a user searches for a place, shop, or business and a company has purchased an ad for that keyword, its promotional result appears at the top.

Additionally, ads appear in the Suggested Places section when users initiate a search in Maps. Currently, one ad is shown per search result set. This provides businesses with a new way to reach customers directly.

Can't close ads

For your information, the biggest drawback of ads appearing in Apple Maps is that users don't have the option to completely disable them. This means that if an ad is available for a search in your area, there's no separate setting to remove it.

However, Apple has also included a blue Ad label to distinguish ads from normal search results. This will make it easier for users to understand whether what they see is an organic search result or a paid promotion.

Apple's claim regarding user data

Despite the introduction of advertising, Apple has clarified its privacy policies. According to the company, any advertisement a user interacts with in Maps is not linked to their Apple account. Furthermore, advertising data is not shared with third-party companies. This clearly demonstrates Apple's concern for the data safety of its users.

However, Apple has also imposed restrictions on certain categories for Maps Ads. Ads related to home services, bail bonds, and cryptocurrency ATMs are not permitted under the company's Advertising Services Policy.

Advertisements related to medical services may be shown under certain conditions. However, such ads will be evaluated before they are allowed to run.
