"A Special Reunion": Anaya Bangar Meets Sarfaraz Khan After Gender Transition, Shares Heartfelt Moments with Cricketer’s Family

In a heartwarming and much-talked-about moment, Anaya Bangar—daughter of former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar—met childhood friend and Team India batter Sarfaraz Khan for the first time after transitioning from male to female. The reunion, filled with emotion and nostalgia, took place on April 21 at Sarfaraz’s home and quickly captured the attention of fans on social media.

Anaya, who has been open about her gender transition and the struggles she faced—including alleged harassment by some individuals from the cricketing world—shared pictures and videos from the special evening. One of the standout posts featured the two longtime friends holding cricket bats and dining together with Sarfaraz's father. In another, Anaya sat atop Sarfaraz’s newly remodeled Thar jeep, a tribute to his jersey number 97, with Sarfaraz beside her and his father at the wheel.

Reflecting on the occasion, Sarfaraz said, “It’s a day of double celebration—our Thar just got its one-year anniversary makeover, and after 2-3 years, Anaya has come to our house. It’s truly special.”

Anaya captioned one of the shared images with, “We held the bat before we held the phone. We've been friends from the start.” She also gave a shout-out to Sarfaraz’s brother: “Mushir Khan, I missed you a lot.”

Sarfaraz Left Out of IPL 2025

Despite his impressive run in domestic cricket and some notable Test performances, Sarfaraz Khan went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Meanwhile, his younger brother Mushir Khan is currently part of the Punjab Kings squad.
