AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi launched a scathing attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Addressing an election rally in Nizamabad, Owaisi called him a "2-rupee beggar."

This controversial statement came after Owaisi asked the crowd on stage for a two-rupee coin and waved it in the air, responding to the Assam Chief Minister in his own language. This entire incident occurred in response to a recent statement made by Himanta Biswa Sarma. During the rally, Owaisi asked the crowd for a two-rupee coin, and as soon as he received it, he launched into a scathing attack on the Assam Chief Minister.

Owaisi's controversial statement

Owaisi said, waving a coin, "These are 2 rupees. The Chief Minister of Assam is saying that if the Miya Muslims there take someone in an auto, and if the auto fare is 5 rupees, then give 4 rupees. Himanta Biswa Sarma, I am giving you this alms of 2 rupees, tell me, do you take it?" The entire ground echoed with applause at this style of Owaisi. He further said, "Say, you are a beggar of 2 rupees, I know you. You are such a low man, such a small man that you are after 4-5 rupees of a poor man who drives an auto."

The controversy stems from a statement by the Assam Chief Minister, in which he alleged that Assam's "Miya Muslims" (Muslims of Bengali origin) lure people by offering low prices at their shops and low fares on auto-rickshaws. Sarma described this as "love jihad" and part of a conspiracy to increase the population. Owaisi mocked this "economic jihad" statement, calling him "anti-poor."

"Will not tolerate insults to the community."

Owaisi argued that a Chief Minister's comment on the earnings of a poor auto driver reflects his mindset. Owaisi's speech is now going viral on social media and has become a topic of discussion in political circles. In his address, he made it clear that he will not tolerate any insults or narrow-minded statements against his community.
