National Testing Agency has announced the UGC NET December 2025 exam dates from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, and the application process is open now.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the exam dates for the UGC NET December 2025 session. According to official information, the exam will be held from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026. It will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at test centers across the country.
The UGC-NET is the country's premier national-level examination that determines eligibility for Assistant Professorships and Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) in Indian universities and colleges. Furthermore, the exam is considered essential for admission to PhD programs and for fellowships from various ministries.
When will I get the City Slip?
The NTA stated that the city information slip will be made available to candidates on the official website 10 days prior to the exam. Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the NTA website for all exam-related updates.
Application process begins
The application process for UGC NET December 2025 is currently open. Interested candidates can apply online. The deadline for submitting applications and fees is November 7, 2025, at 11:50 pm. Candidates can apply through the "Online Application" option by visiting the NTA's official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

- General/Unreserved Category: Rs 1,150
- General-EWS/OBC-NCL: Rs 600
- Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PWD)/Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): Rs 325
Exam Pattern
The UGC NET exam will consist of two papers. Each paper will last 180 minutes, and there will be no break between papers. Both papers will be computer-based, with questions to be answered online.

- Click on “Registration for UGC NET DEC 2025”.
- If you are applying for the first time, click on “New Registration”.
- If already registered, click on “Login”.
- Fill the application form and pay the fee.
