Ashok Gehlot : On the occasion of Jyotiba Phule Jayanti, Ashok Gehlot targeted the Bhajanlal government and accused it of closing public welfare schemes and demanded intervention from the Prime Minister.

On the occasion of the 200th birth anniversary of social reformer Jyotiba Phule, political rhetoric has intensified in Rajasthan. In Jaipur, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot directly targeted the current Bhajanlal Sharma government.
Gehlot said that Mahatma Phule worked his entire life to eradicate discrimination from society. However, today's government is working against that spirit. He alleged that the BJP government is adopting policies that increase inequality rather than promote equality in society.
Anger over the closure of projects
The former CM also said that many public welfare schemes launched during his tenure have been discontinued by the current government. According to Gehlot, these schemes were vital for the common people and discontinuing them is against the public interest.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that the Prime Minister himself had previously praised these schemes. He also stated that these schemes would continue even after a change of government. Therefore, the Prime Minister should now intervene in this matter.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that merely giving speeches on Phule Jayanti is not enough. True respect will come when his ideas are implemented on the ground. He alleged that the current government is failing to do so.
Accused of widening the gap between the rich and the poor
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also accused the BJP government of widening the gap between the rich and the poor under its rule, which is completely contrary to the vision of Mahatma Phule. He appealed to the government to restart discontinued schemes in the public interest so that common people can benefit.
