Even though the UP government was saying from the beginning that all the arrangements were tight in Mahakumbh 2025, but the stampede on the day of Mauni Amavasya has revealed the reality to be something else. Many saints are angry about this, while many saints are considering it an accident. However, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Badrinath Jyotish Peeth has openly expressed his views on this. He has expressed protest and expressed displeasure and demanded the resignation of CM Yogi Adityanath. He said that it was not right to hide a heartbreaking incident like a stampede, in such a situation the CM should resign from the post.

Swami Avimukteshwarananda expressed his displeasure while talking to TV9 Bharatvarsh and said that people had believed the claims of the government. Before the Maha Kumbh, the government had said that an estimated 42 crore people were going to come to the Maha Kumbh and the government has made arrangements for up to 100 crore people. The truth about these arrangements has been revealed from Mauni Amavasya. He said that if there was an arrangement of 100 crore and only 40 crore have come, then how did chaos happen? If 140 crore had come, it could have been assumed that there was overcrowding.

Swami Avimukteshwarananda said that it is very painful that our CM hid such a big incident for not one or two but 18 hours. Even after this, the death figures of people are being hidden. The CM said from his social media handle not to pay attention to rumors. Shankaracharya said that until the CM clarified, he was thinking that all the things were just rumours and a conspiracy was being hatched to defame the government's arrangements. However, 18 hours later, the CM himself admitted about the accident and the death of people.

CM Yogi is not a saint, he should resign

Swami Avimukteshwaranand expressed his displeasure and said that CM Yogi is not a saint. If he were a saint, he would not have hidden such a painful accident like the death of people. Saints do not hide anything, they come forward and accept it. Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that CM Yogi should resign after such a big incident and some capable person should be made CM in his place.

Incidents happened at 6 places

Shankaracharya said that the Ghunsi incident has not been mentioned anywhere. Shankaracharya said that the police officer has told him that there were stampede-like situations not at 1-2 but at 6 places. On the question of how many people died, he said that the official figure is 30. Shankaracharya said that the exact number of the dead is still being hidden. However, so far 49 people have died, out of which 25 have been identified while 24 are still unidentified.

Shankaracharya said that the saints who are saying that the people who died in the stampede have attained salvation should also be pushed into the Ganga and given salvation. Are they ready for this? He said that it is very easy to say that the children, women and elderly who were crushed and died in agony have attained salvation. The government should release the CCTV or give access to everyone so that the truth can come out.
