Operation Sindoor: Did Pakistan shoot down India's Rafale aircraft during Operation Sindoor? Many such questions must be arising in your mind? But now the answer to this question has also come. The chairman of Dassault Aviation, the company that makes Rafale fighter jets, has answered this. Let us know whether Pakistan really shot down the Indian Rafale aircraft?
Did Pakistan shoot down Rafale? (Operation Sindoor)
On 7 May 2025, India targeted several terrorist camps growing inside Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. More than 100 terrorists were killed in this operation. During this time, Pakistan claimed to have shot down India's Rafale aircraft. Now Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, the company that makes Rafale, has given a statement on this entire incident and told the truth. Eric Trappier told the French website Avion De Chasse that no Rafale aircraft fell during the India-Pakistan conflict. Eric Trappier described Pakistan's claim as "false and baseless", reminding that India did not lose any Rafale fighter aircraft in the war during Operation Sindoor. However, he admitted to the loss of one aircraft due to technical malfunction at high altitude, without coming in contact with the enemy, which is now under investigation.
What did India say on Rafale?
Defence Secretary R.K. Singh, while speaking to CNBC TV18, clarified that the reports of India's Rafale fighter jets being shot down during Operation Sindoor are completely false. He said, "You used the word 'Rafales' in the plural, but the truth is that nothing like this happened. Pakistan has suffered much more losses than India, both in terms of life and property." He said that more than 100 terrorists were killed in this operation. He also added that the Indian forces were given complete freedom during the operation and there were no political restrictions on them.
What did France say on Rafale?
Meanwhile, French officials have alleged that China is deliberately trying to damage the reputation of Rafale aircraft. According to the French intelligence report, after the Indo-Pak conflict, China spread such rumors through its foreign embassies and defense attaches, which were aimed at weakening the international image of Rafale. Its special target were those countries like Indonesia, which have ordered or can order Rafale. According to the report, China wanted these countries to buy fighter planes made by it instead of Rafale. After this conflict, Pakistan had claimed that it shot down five Indian planes, including three Rafales. However, French officials believe that this claim is false and its purpose was only to tarnish the global image of Rafale.
