India vs Bangladesh: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami (Mohammed Shami 200 ODI Wickets) created history with his brilliant bowling in the Champions Trophy 2025 match against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday (20 February). Shami took the wickets of Soumya Sarkar, Mehdi Hasan Miraz and Zaker Ali.
With the wicket of Zaker, Shami completed his 200 wickets in ODI International. He has become the eighth bowler to reach this figure for India. Along with this, he made many special records.
Fastest 200 wickets for India
Shami has reached the joint second position in terms of taking the fastest 200 wickets in ODIs. By achieving this milestone in the 104th ODI match, he has equaled Saqlain Mushtaq. He has reached this figure fastest for India.
200 ODI wickets in the least number of balls
Apart from this, Shami has become the bowler to take 200 ODI wickets in the least number of balls. Shami broke Mitchell Starc's record by doing this feat in 5126 balls. Starc had completed his 200 wickets in this format in 5240 balls.
Broke Zaheer Khan's record
Shami has become the highest wicket-taker for India in ICC's limited over tournaments (World Cup, Champions Trophy and T20 World Cup). Shami now has 72 wickets and he has left Zaheer Khan behind in this list. Zaheer had taken 71 wickets in ICC limited over tournaments.
