Commercial LPG users have entered October 2026 with higher fuel costs after oil marketing companies revised the prices of several categories of gas cylinders. The new rates came into effect on October 1, bringing an increase in the price of the widely used 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder.
The revision is particularly important for restaurants, hotels, dhabas, sweet shops, caterers and other businesses that depend heavily on LPG for their daily operations. Depending on the city, the increase in commercial LPG prices is reported to be between ₹62.50 and ₹71.50.
Households, however, have been spared from the latest hike. The price of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has not been revised in this round, providing some relief to families ahead of the festive season.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Now Costs ₹2,810 in Delhi
In Delhi, the price of a standard 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹62.50.
Before the October revision, the cylinder was priced at ₹2,747.50. From October 1, 2026, customers will have to pay ₹2,810 for the same cylinder.
The price revision is not restricted to the standard commercial cylinder. Rates for other commercial LPG products, including XtraTeJ, Nano Cut and larger 47.5-kg cylinders, have also been revised.
Here are the old and new prices mentioned for Delhi:
| LPG Cylinder Type | Previous Price | New Price |
|---|---|---|
| 19-kg Commercial Cylinder | ₹2,747.50 | ₹2,810 |
| 19-kg XtraTeJ | ₹2,770 | ₹2,832.50 |
| 19-kg Nano Cut | ₹2,924.50 | ₹2,982.50 |
| 47.5-kg Large Cylinder | ₹6,864.50 | ₹7,021 |
| 47.5-kg XtraTeJ | ₹6,920.50 | ₹7,077 |
These revised prices mean businesses with high monthly LPG consumption could see a noticeable increase in their overall cooking and operating expenses.
Small Commercial and FTL Cylinder Rates Also Revised
The October LPG price revision has also affected smaller cylinders and FTL products.
According to the revised price list, the cost of a new 5-kg FTL connection has moved from ₹1,885 to ₹1,900.50. The refill price for the same category has increased from ₹764 to ₹779.50.
For the smaller 2-kg FTL category, a new connection now costs ₹1,033 compared with ₹1,027 earlier. The refill rate has increased from ₹319 to ₹325.
This means the latest revision affects commercial customers using different cylinder sizes rather than only businesses purchasing standard 19-kg cylinders.
Domestic LPG Price Remains Unchanged
The key relief for household consumers is that domestic LPG prices have not been increased as part of this revision.
In Delhi, a standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder continues to cost ₹942. Therefore, households purchasing this cylinder will not face an additional expense due to the October 1 commercial LPG revision.
Other domestic cylinder rates mentioned in the current price list also remain unchanged.
| Domestic LPG Category | Current Price |
|---|---|
| 14.2-kg Standard Domestic Cylinder | ₹942 |
| 5-kg Standard Domestic Cylinder | ₹349.50 |
| 10-kg Composite Cylinder | ₹673 |
| 5-kg Composite Cylinder | ₹349.50 |
Consumers should remember that LPG prices can vary by location. The amount payable in another city may therefore differ from the Delhi rates listed above.
Why Commercial LPG Prices Matter for Businesses
Commercial LPG cylinders are extensively used across India's food and hospitality sectors. Restaurants, hotels, roadside eateries, bakeries, catering businesses and sweet shops are among the establishments that can consume several cylinders every month.
Even a moderate increase in the price of each cylinder can therefore raise monthly operating costs for businesses with high LPG consumption.
The timing is also significant because the festive season generally brings increased activity for restaurants, caterers, sweet shops and other food-related businesses. Higher commercial LPG costs could add to their expenditure during a period when demand is typically stronger.
However, whether businesses pass any additional cost on to customers will depend on several factors, including their LPG consumption, other input costs and individual pricing decisions.
Households Avoid a Direct Hit From Latest LPG Revision
While commercial consumers will have to adjust to higher LPG rates, households using standard domestic cylinders have avoided a direct price increase this time.
With the 14.2-kg domestic cylinder continuing at ₹942 in Delhi, the latest revision does not immediately increase the LPG expense of families using this category.
The distinction between domestic and commercial cylinders is important because price changes do not necessarily apply equally to every LPG category. A hike in the 19-kg commercial cylinder price does not automatically mean that the standard household cylinder has also become more expensive.
For consumers and businesses, checking the applicable cylinder category and the latest rate in their city before booking can help avoid confusion.
As of October 1, 2026, the major change is therefore on the commercial side: businesses face higher LPG prices, while the standard domestic cylinder price remains unchanged.
