Indian Railways New Train Update 2026: Railway passengers are set to get more travel options after the Railway Board approved two new train services, route extensions for four existing trains and additional stoppages for seven services.

The latest changes are expected to improve rail connectivity across several routes, particularly benefiting passengers travelling in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Among the major announcements are the introduction of the Kasganj-Aishbagh Express and a new Valsad-Surat MEMU service. The Railway Board has also approved the extension of the Varanasi City-Gorakhpur Express up to Nepalganj Road, while services in Madhya Pradesh will be extended to Madan Mahal.

Passengers should note that approval from the Railway Board does not necessarily mean all services will begin immediately. The respective railway zones will issue separate notifications specifying the commencement dates and implementation of the new stoppages.

Here is what passengers need to know about the latest railway changes.

1. New Kasganj-Aishbagh Express Approved

One of the biggest announcements is the approval of the 15312/15311 Kasganj-Aishbagh Express.

The train is planned as a daily service, providing another direct travel option between Kasganj and Aishbagh in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the approved schedule, Train No. 15312 will leave Kasganj at 4:20 AM and reach Aishbagh at 1:00 PM.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 15311 will depart from Aishbagh at 2:00 PM and arrive at Kasganj at 10:40 PM.

The service is expected to stop at several important stations, including:

Ujhani, Badaun, Bareilly, Izzatnagar, Pilibhit, Puranpur, Mailani, Gola Gokarannath, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Sidhauli and Mohibullapur.

The new train could improve connectivity for passengers travelling between several towns in Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow.

2. Valsad-Surat MEMU Gets Approval

Gujarat passengers are also set to receive an additional local rail option with the approval of the Valsad-Surat MEMU.

Train No. 69149 is expected to operate daily between Valsad and Surat.

According to the approved timings, the train will leave Valsad at 1:20 PM and reach Surat at 4:40 PM.

The proposed stoppages include:

Dungri, Joravasan, Bilimora, Amlasad, Ancheli, Vedchha, Gandhi Smriti, Navsari, Maroli, Sachin, Bhestan and Udhna.

The MEMU service could be particularly useful for daily commuters and short-distance passengers travelling through the busy South Gujarat rail corridor.

3. Varanasi City-Gorakhpur Express Extended to Nepalganj Road

Another major decision involves the 15132/15131 Varanasi City-Gorakhpur Express.

The Railway Board has approved the extension of this train beyond Gorakhpur to Nepalganj Road.

After the extension, Train No. 15132 is scheduled to depart from Varanasi City at 10:35 PM and reach Nepalganj Road at 11:20 AM the following day.

On the return journey, Train No. 15131 will leave Nepalganj Road at 4:15 PM and reach Varanasi City at 5:30 AM the next day.

The extended portion is expected to include stops at stations such as Nakaha Jungle, Peppeganj, Campierganj, Anand Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Shohratgarh, Barhni, Tulsipur, Balrampur, Gonda, Payagpur, Bahraich and Risia.

The extension is significant because it will connect more districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh with Varanasi and other major railway points.

4. Rewa-Jabalpur Express Extended to Madan Mahal

Passengers in Madhya Pradesh are also set to benefit.

The Railway Board has approved the extension of Train Nos. 22189/22190 Rewa-Jabalpur Express up to Madan Mahal.

Under the proposed schedule, Train No. 22190 Rewa-Madan Mahal Express will leave Rewa at 5:45 AM and reach Madan Mahal at 10:07 AM.

It will stop at Jabalpur between 9:46 AM and 9:51 AM before continuing towards Madan Mahal.

For the return journey, Train No. 22189 Madan Mahal-Rewa Express will depart Madan Mahal at 5:00 PM and reach Jabalpur at around 5:10 PM before continuing towards Rewa, where it is scheduled to arrive at 9:22 PM.

5. Ambikapur-Jabalpur Express to Run Up to Madan Mahal

Another service has also been approved for extension to Madan Mahal.

The 11265/11266 Jabalpur-Ambikapur Express is proposed to operate up to Madan Mahal.

Following the extension, Train No. 11266 Ambikapur-Madan Mahal Express will depart Ambikapur at 6:15 AM and arrive at Madan Mahal at around 3:20 PM.

It is expected to stop at Jabalpur from approximately 2:55 PM to 3:00 PM.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 11265 Madan Mahal-Ambikapur Express is scheduled to leave Madan Mahal at 12:25 PM, reach Jabalpur at around 12:35 PM and arrive at Ambikapur at approximately 11:00 PM.

The extension will provide passengers travelling to and from Jabalpur city another convenient boarding and deboarding point.

6. Four Existing Train Services Get Route Extensions

Overall, the Railway Board has cleared route extensions for four existing services.

These extensions are aimed at improving direct connectivity and reducing the need for passengers to change trains on certain routes.

The Varanasi City-Gorakhpur service's extension to Nepalganj Road is particularly important for passengers in eastern Uttar Pradesh, while the Madan Mahal extensions could make travel more convenient for passengers in and around Jabalpur.

7. Seven Trains Get Additional Stoppages

Along with introducing new services and extending existing routes, the Railway Board has also approved additional stoppages for seven trains.

New stoppages can be important for smaller towns because passengers may otherwise have to travel to a larger nearby railway station to board long-distance trains.

When Will the New Trains Start Running?

This is one of the most important points for passengers.
