Anjum Chopra warns Team India before IND vs PAK Clash
The February 15th match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 will be more than just a match, but a high-voltage clash. Both teams are fully prepared for this epic encounter, but a significant difference in the conditions is evident before the match. Pakistan has been playing in Sri Lanka for the past two weeks, while the Indian team has played all its matches in India so far. Consequently, Pakistan may have a slight advantage in terms of adapting to the Sri Lankan pitches and weather.
Former Indian women's cricket captain and current commentator Anjum Chopra has offered some specific advice to Team India on this issue. She believes that while the Indian team is strong, any carelessness in this format could prove costly.
Anjum Chopra gave important advice.
During a conversation, Anjum Chopra stated that the Indian team is a strong contender for victory, but she would like to avoid overconfidence. She believes that T20 is a format where the game can change at any moment. She emphasized that Pakistan has already played in Colombo and is well aware of the conditions there. The Indian team has limited time before the match, so making the most of these 48 hours will be crucial. She believes that the Indian players will need to quickly develop their strategy based on the nature of the pitch and the weather to avoid any difficulties on match day.
If not Abhishek, Sanju is a ready option.
Discussion is also rife regarding the opening combination. If Abhishek Sharma is unfit, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson could be considered. He recently made his T20 World Cup debut against Namibia, scoring 22 runs off 8 balls.
Anjum Chopra clearly states that there should be no concerns about Sanju. According to her, Sanju is a match-winning player and can make a significant contribution to the team when needed.
