If a person is dealing with stress, help him in time and send him for therapy. If he is not able to deal with stress in time, it can deteriorate the health of the heart. Experts have also warned that constant stress can increase the risk of heart attack, know how?

Mental Stress Can Cause Heart Attack: We often take mental stress lightly, but do you know that it can have a direct impact on your heart? Today's fast-paced life, work pressure, complications in relationships and worries about the future - all these together can gradually spoil your heart health. Doctors and cardiologists are constantly warning that there is a deep connection between mental health and heart health. If the load on the mind increases, it will have a direct impact on the health of the heart, which is not at all right that someone's heart stops working due to stress.
When people are under a lot of stress, instead of getting treatment or asking for help, they either ignore it or include such habits in their daily routine which increase the risk even more like drinking alcohol, smoking, eating too much or too less, eating mostly junk food, getting less sleep or sleeping all day (this also happens due to mental fatigue), almost no physical activity, not getting sunlight, not sharing your thoughts with anyone. All these habits gradually take you towards serious danger. Which has a direct impact on the heart and after some time the consequences can be serious.
Experts believe that constant stress can increase the risk of heart attack. Many reasons like modern lifestyle, job pressure, family stress, financial instability and digital overload push us towards constant mental stress. According to experts, it is very important to take mental health seriously. "If a person walks for just 30 minutes every day, meditates and does pranayama, then the effect of stress can be reduced to a great extent." Apart from this, taking a healthy diet, getting enough sleep and keeping in touch with your loved ones also helps in improving heart health.
Dr Ajit Jain, Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiology at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Delhi, explains that when a person is under stress, the level of some hormones like adrenalin and cortisol increases in the body. These hormones take the body into 'fight or flight' mode. In this situation, the heartbeat increases, blood pressure increases and the blood starts thickening. If this condition persists for a long time, the blood vessels start shrinking and they may also get swollen. This causes blockage in the heart arteries, which can later cause a heart attack.
Chronic stress is considered to be the most dangerous for the heart. Due to stress, people often turn to habits like smoking, alcohol or overeating. All these habits cause further damage to the heart. Also, stress affects the quality of sleep, due to which blood pressure and blood sugar levels can become uncontrolled.
How does mental stress become a risk factor?
Cardiologists believe that mental stress can directly double the risk of heart attack.
Chronic stress : Being stressed for a long time increases inflammation, which can cause heart diseases.
Unhealthy habits : Under stress, people resort to smoking, overeating or alcohol, which are harmful for the heart.
Lack of sleep : Stress disturbs the sleep cycle, which can cause blood pressure and heart rate to become uncontrolled.
Depression and anxiety : These mental conditions increase the risk of heart diseases.
Listening to music, reading a book, spending time near nature and sometimes taking a digital detox can also be beneficial to relieve stress. If stress persists and is affecting life, do not delay in consulting a mental health expert.
