If you're employed, your PF interest must have already been credited to your account. However, if you're having trouble checking whether the interest has been credited, this news is for you. The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has begun the process of crediting interest to PF accounts for the financial year 2025-26, and the interest amount has been credited to many account holders. However, some employees are still confused because they don't see the interest credited in their passbooks. You can check the interest credited to your account by following the steps below.
The UMANG app
can be used to check interest rates on your PF account. First, open the UMANG app and select the EPFO option. Then, log in using your UAN number. Once logged in, you can check your passbook or account information to see if interest has been credited.
Missed Call and SMS
EPFO members can also access PF information through missed calls and SMS. You can get account-related information by giving a missed call to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number. You can also get PF balance and other details by typing “EPFOHO UAN” in your mobile's message box and sending it to 7738299899.
Recheck your passbook.
If you didn't see the interest entry in your passbook a few days ago, it's a good idea to check it again now. Because the EPFO deposits interest in accounts in different stages. Log in to the official EPFO passbook portal and check the entry for the financial year 2025-26. The interest entry should be visible there.
What to do if interest is not credited?
If, despite all the necessary checks, the interest amount isn't reflected in your PF account, you can file a complaint with the EPFO online. You can file a complaint by visiting the EPFO's grievance redressal portal and filling in the required information. The relevant officials will then investigate the matter and make an appropriate decision. Sometimes, due to technical reasons, passbook updates may be delayed by a few days.
