Rajasthan Free Electricity: Budget 2025-26 has been presented in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Deputy CM and Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented the budget in the House of the Assembly in which many announcements were made. However, confusion has arisen among the electricity consumers of the state regarding free electricity. Because the Rajasthan government had stopped the free 100 units of electricity available to domestic consumers in the state. After which the announcement of this 150 units of free electricity has become a confusion for them. But this 150 units of free electricity has not been announced for domestic consumers.

What did Diya Kumari say about free electricity in the budget

The Finance Minister said, our aim is to provide more benefits to the beneficiary families in the Free Domestic Electricity Scheme, as well as to control the financial burden coming on the state continuously. To fulfill this objective, I announce to provide free electricity per month to the beneficiary families of the Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme by leveraging the ambitious scheme PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme implemented by PM Modi, by installing free solar plants in a phased manner, increasing it from 100 units to 150 units. In this sequence, community solar plants are proposed to be set up for those low income families whose homes do not have adequate space for solar plants.

Who gets the benefit of the scheme

Under the Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme in Rajasthan, solar panels are installed on your houses for free electricity. The electricity that will be obtained by installing solar panels is free. This includes those families who arrange for solar energy on the roof of their house. This is a scheme for poor families and middle class families. It will include those people whose income is not much. That is, whose annual income is up to one and a half lakh (1.5 lakh) rupees or less.
