West Bengal News: A tragic accident occurred during the wedding of 61-year-old Sushmita Das, a resident of Shyambazar in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The woman died when her body suddenly caught fire during the Haldi ceremony. She was rushed to SSKM Hospital in critical condition immediately after the incident and later transferred to the burn unit of M R Bangur Hospital for better treatment. Despite five days of hospital treatment, Sushmita Das died.

According to reports, the incident occurred last Thursday in the Paris Hall of St. Paul's Cathedral Church. Family sources said that during the Haldi ceremony, the woman's body suddenly caught fire. Seriously injured, she was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors desperately tried to save her.

Police are investigating the accident.

In her dying declaration, Sushmita Das did not blame anyone for the accident. The family also described the incident as unfortunate and sudden. Following the incident, the Ultadanga police station has launched an investigation, and given the seriousness of the matter, officers visited the scene and interviewed people involved.
